When the gates swing open for the first of 18 events at Franklin County Speedway, fans will be able to experience the races from the comfort of their vehicle or the tailgate of their truck with an unobstructed view of the racing action with Trackside Parking.
Trackside Parking will be an unobstructed view of the races from the comforts of fans personal vehicles along the top of the backside grandstands headed into turn number three. Trackside Parking is available at short tracks all across the country and for the first time it’ll be available to fans at Franklin County Speedway.
“We’ve got a great venue layout that allows us to open up some of the backside for Trackside Parking,” stated track promoter Langley Austin. “It’s something that many other tracks in the region offer and fans love it. You can park your car, watch from inside, jump out on your tailgate and watch or setup chairs in front of your car and watch the whole race from what I’d say is the best seats in the house.”
Trackside Parking will also allow fans to setup a grill to cook their own food at the track and enjoy the ‘tailgating’ style track experience that so many sports fans love.
“Who doesn’t love tailgating? What’s better than a night at the track with your grill and a cooler full of your favorite beverages and family and friends to hang out with? This is sure to be a hot spot for all fans to have a good time and enjoy some of the best short track racing anywhere.”
Trackside Parking does have a downside, at least to begin with, as only 10 spaces will be available for rent either by the season or by the night on a first come, first serve basis. There’s room for expansion but Austin says he wants to see the response from the fans first before constructing additional spaces.
“It’s new and it’s something that we believe is going to be very exciting for the fans but before we tear down some of the existing structures that stand in our way of being able to construct more spaces, we’re going to see what the response is. I think the fans will be all for it though and I think it won’t be long before we’re having to put in some work to get more spaces available.”
Trackside Parking spaces will be available for purchase for the entire season for the low rate of just $180. Any spaces not sold for the entire year will be available on race nights for $20/each and that’s in addition to the cost for a ticket for the race event. With carload specials in place for nearly event this season and with the yearly price you could realistically attend the race in ‘tailgating style’ for just $35 per event with a carload of people.
“I don’t think any track in America offers the level of entertainment that Franklin County Speedway does,” continued Austin. “So to be able to tailgate at the track and cook burgers or steaks for your friends and family and watch an entertaining night of racing for $35 for a whole family is an incredible price. I’d say it’s the cheapest ticket for that in all of short track racing.”
Trackside Parking spaces are now available for purchase on the Franklin County Speedway website at www.FCSpeedway.com via paypal. You can secure your Trackside Parking spaces for the season online and any spaces still available on race day will be available first come, first serve.
